Rose Quartz Transitional | Sutton Place
Completed: 2025 | Location: New York City | Scope: Cabinetry and millwork fabrication | Designer: 3F Living
The owners of this Upper East Side apartment sought a room that could easily transition from an office by day to a guest room by night. 3F Living, the design firm, turned to Old Mine for the design engineering and fabrication for this complex undertaking, which included a built-in closet, nightstands, and a well-disguised Murphy bed, as well as upfitting existing millwork to blend with the new design. The Shaker doors across the room feature grasscloth wallpaper insets—a detail that required extensive R&D in order to work in conjunction with the shop-sprayed paint finish. As the room flexes as an office, the retractable nightstands stow away next to the Murphy bed, which also incorporates grasscloth insets. An intentional shadow line near the ceiling, as well as a toe-kick along the bottom, add depth to the build, while integrated LED lighting on shelves contributes a subtle and welcoming glow.
